Expectations for the expansion of centralized control areas for traffic signals using 5G and for achieving safer and smoother traffic in anticipation of a self-driving society are increasing. 5G, characterized by high speed, large capacity, ultra-low latency, and numerous simultaneous connections, is set to begin deployment, with partial operation expected to start in 2020.
